Subjects for Tests & Exams

 

 

 

Closed loop control systems: Transfer functions. Block diagrams. P, I, PD, PI and PID Controllers.

State Equations: State Variables. Description of systems in state equation. Equivalent representations of systems. Conversion of state equations to transfer function. Transforming transfer function into state equations. Analogical simulation.

Time domain analysis of systems: 1st order systems. 2nd order systems. Systems response to impulse, step and ramp signals.

Stability of dynamic systems: the Routh criterion for stability. Root Locus: construction and meaning.

Frequency domain analysis of systems: Frequency response and transfer function: the effects of zeros and poles. Nyquist plot. Nyquist criterion for stability. Bode diagram. Gain margin and Phase margin.
