Model for the Report

 

 

Here is the link for the ‘model’ of the Report’s front page (in Word).

The writing style of the Report is free. There is no fixed rules for the Report’s organization, only a few recommendations are given below.

Surely your supervisor may also have something to say about the most appropriate form to write your Report.

Remember that your Report will be read by the members of the Panel (or Jury) before the day of your ‘Seminar’ presentation. They can ask you questions about your presentation as well as about what you have written in your Report

 

Recommendations:

The Report should preferable follow the order and the suggestions indicated below:

ü Dedication (optional)

ü Acknowledgements (optional)

ü Preface (optional)

ü Abstract in Portuguese (half page, about 1500 words, is the recommended)

ü Keywords in Portuguese (about 5 or 6, less than 10, is the recommended)

ü Abstract in English (optional) translation of the ‘Abstract’ for the English language, not compulsory

ü Keywords in English (optional) translation of the ‘Keywords’ for the English language, not compulsory

(however, you should put in case you have an ‘Abstract’ in English)

ü Summary

ü List of Figures (optional, in case you find necessary)

ü List of Tables (optional, in case you find necessary)

ü List of Acronyms (optional, in case you find necessary)

ü List of Symbols (optional, in case you find necessary, for symbols such as ‘Greek letters’ used for example)

ü Chapter 1 (it is recommended to be the ‘Introduction’ and that you include in it the ‘state of art’ and the ‘objectives’ of your work/project)

ü Chapter 2

ü Chapter 3

ü etc.

(each chapter can be divided in sections and subsections at the student’s choice, guided by his supervisor)

(it is also recommended that the last chapter should be the ‘Conclusion’ and in it to be included the ‘possible future developments of your work/project’, if any)

ü References (at the end, after the last chapter)

(it is recommended not more than 30 publications, about one or two pages only)

ü Annexes (optional, in case you find necessary)
